From Kazakhstan, with love
Our story
A family cake bakery that started in a home kitchen and crossed an ocean — still baking every cake by hand.

It started at a kitchen table
Happy Cake began in 2013, when Saule Soltanovastarted baking cakes from her family’s home kitchen in Kazakhstan and sharing them on Instagram. People came back — first friends, then friends of friends, then a whole city. Her husband, Askhat Soltanov, joined to help the little bakery grow, and over the years Happy Cake became a confectionery brand loved across the country.
Crossing an ocean to Sugar Land
In 2024, the family opened their first U.S. location — a cake bakery and cozy, laptop-friendly cafe at 350 Promenade Way in Sugar Land, Texas, just outside Houston. The recipes came with them: layered honey cake (Medovik), Napoleon, Spanish cheesecake, Black Forest, and the cloud-soft cakes regulars ask for by name. The cafe is halal, and our cakes have already earned 130+ reviews from Sugar Land families on Google.
No mixes, no shortcuts
We bake the way you’d bake for your own table — fresh every morning, by hand, with real ingredients. No box mixes, no frozen shortcuts. A honey cake takes the time a honey cake takes. That’s the whole point. Slices are ready the same day; whole cakes are baked to order with about a day’s notice; and custom cakes for birthdays, weddings, Eid, Diwali, Lunar New Year and quinceañeras start from a quick conversation with us.
Come say hello
We’re open 11 AM – 7 PM CT, Tuesday–Sunday (closed Mondays). Everything is pickup at our Sugar Land shop for now — we’re working on delivery. Stop in for a slice and a coffee, or order a whole cake for pickup. Have a question first? Our FAQ covers hours, lead times, and allergens.
